NIFTY MINE COPPER CONCENTRATE HEAP LEACHING FACILITY
Client: Cyprium Metals
Year: 2021
The project has not been tendered yet as Cyprium Metals are still in the process of securing capital from the share market.
WML’s role in this project was to undertake a Geotechnical Investigation for the relocation of the existing processing plant and 1,000,000m2 heap leach area. The investigation involved the drilling of 20 boreholes and excavation of 75 test pits across the site in mainly greenfield areas.
The purpose of the investigation was to provide geotechnical advice on the proposed heap leach design and provide geotechnical design parameters for the construction of the new processing plant area.
In addition WML designed the 54ha HDPE lined copper concentrate heap leach facility. The work required the technical delivery of a complex earthworks design over a large area including obtaining cut/fill balance, designing stacking staging and stacker conveyor corridor and drainage. Work included earthworks and liner design, surface and sub-surface drainage design, leachate collection and management system, piping requirements, schedule of quantities and technical specification.
