A significant aspect of WML’s role centred upon coordinating installation of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment including conveyors, an MCC building, sample stations and dust collection systems.
Ground conditions at the site consisted of 3m of dredged spoil placed in the early 1970’s, underlain by soft alluvial clays and very loose to medium dense alluvial sands to 12m depth. This was underlain by stiff clay layer to between 13 and 15m depth then weathered basalt.
WML were engaged to provide structural design, support and construction supervision for a new 6,500 square metre storage facility for copper concentrate to be exported from Bunbury Port.
