Project Description

Excelsior Gold’s haul road crossing involved not only the interactions between heavy weight road trains and public traffic but a buried natural gas pipeline as well. Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) engaged WML in 2014 to complete a design of passing lanes and mine access intersections over an approximate 2km section of Great Eastern Highway near Coolgardie.

Services: WML provided the following services: Coordination with all agencies, leaseholders and authorities for gas pipeline relocation; securing approvals from City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and MRWA for intersection location and design; provision of intersection design and documentation, including drainage and pavement; generation of complete technical specifications; construction phase support including tendering and evaluation, supervision and inspections.
